Hootsworth’s Questions & Answers

Do we have any policies about anonymous, disparaging comments made about our company or specific employees?

Answer:

An employer cannot prohibit an employee from making disparaging comments about the organization or its senior leaders -- that right is protected under the national labor relations board and the right to unionize to improve working conditions.

That right and flexibility is balanced against the employer's right to demand conduct and statements that reflect well on the organization.

Hope that helps.
