Your employer probably has a process in place to look into complaints of any kind – including those that might involve workplace violence. Filing a complaint doesn’t necessarily mean that the person will be fired or disciplined. It does allow company leaders to assess the situation and take appropriate action. On one extreme, sometimes the person involved is entirely clueless and doesn’t realize their behavior is threatening or concerning. On the other, your employer could make a more direct intervention, hire additional security or take other actions to lower the risk and defuse the situation.
