This course informs managers and employers on the laws so they can “issue spot” and seek guidance from HR professionals.This is a general course to teach people the basics of ADA protection and corresponding state disability laws. This course introduces managers and employees to the basics of disability law and how to spot and address common workplace situations that may include hiring, firing, pay, job assignments, promotions, layoffs and other terms of employment. It helps learners understand the definition of disability, who is a qualified individual, and the interactive process required by disability laws. Overlapping disability laws are explained and explored. This course also explains what constitutes a reasonable accommodation to disability and provides workplace examples illustrating common reasonable accommodations, as well as missteps and potential areas of conflict.
